May Unfurls Like A Laugh
Blooming, these bones were forged
in a dream. This spell of my grief
and laughter is an offering that I leave
woven at the turning of this wheel, I remember.
Just a reminder that there’s no right way to do this. If you write one, please share it with me (subscribers can comment on this post!), share it on our paid subscriber chat, or post it on Instagram. My handle is @K8belew.

Thank you. I needed this to process my feelings about a great loss.
Your poem is gorgeous. I posted in the chat.
Thank you, Kate. This is helpful right now with reconciling some weird and unexpected sorrow. Here is what came out of me this morning....
May, Untold
Blooming is the way that the soul unravels itself after the storm has passed.
Bones and memories of the lost moments that slip into nothingness like
A dream slides away from the mind when your eyes first open each morning.
Grief leaves room to breathe between the layers of loss along the way.
Laughter fills the spaces of those empty rooms left in its wake.
Offering what is left of this fledgling spirit to the trees and the frogs.
Turning toward the sun again and again as hope calls me home.
