I wanted to share mine this week…
June is the Threshold of Summer
The summers of my memory are those
of fireflies and yearning. The season
of nostalgia. I was always pausing
at the gate of my life in summer. Almost there,
the turning of the wheel, the burning of the sun.
The stars they always knew my name.
I waited there, here, this season that brings
me back myself. The younger days
visit with me, ghosts that I always write with.
Just a reminder that there’s no right way to do this. If you write one, please share it with me (subscribers can comment on this post!), share it on our paid subscriber chat, or post it on Instagram. My handle is @K8belew.
