Summer, Which Comes to Me This Year As a Lake
The waters are speaking again. Solar ripples, the light
on the surface like cursive. Reaching my hand out
I too break the horizon line. I saw a loon, I saw a heron.
Feather, secret, becoming, birth, this mud clay making.
I waited for my answer. Listen, the lake wants to tell you something,
teacher, this is the altar of your learning.
